A "Green" challenge was chosen for our March project in a Facebook group I'm in. This scene was my choice to try for our casual "challenge". It's from a photo I took with my film camera in South Pasadena many years ago, posted below. I'm a little sad about the view since it's not there any longer. Soon after I took this photo and a few others, the cool green chairs disappeared. I hope they have a good home. This painting was a little stressful while being painted since all the lines were getting confusing. But I like the end result, and another try at it might be fun.
Great painting, Sherry! The picture looks like it's a painting too, lovely shot!
ReplyDeleteWarm regards.
Konstantina, you always have such a nice comment - Thank you!
DeleteNice one Sherry. No reason to be sad about the cool green chairs, because you saved them.
ReplyDeleteGreat point Barbara! Thanks!
DeleteThis one's got it all, Sherry. Values, complementary colors, loose and painterly brushstrokes, light. It's a relaxing and inviting scene. And I love the blending of colors on the paper.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terry! You're so sweet! Wish we could have "met" at the online chat. :-)
DeleteLove this so much! Beautiful colour palette.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

DeleteSherry, I'm enjoying browsing through your work! I love this one! The light, the color, everything! Plus, I just have a "thing" for those old metal lawn chairs.:)
