With our Stay-at-Home projects, I've been able to work in a couple watercolors featuring bamboo. It's so picturesque and there is some lining our driveway so it's handy for me to paint. Since it's close to Easter, a recent prompt was to try a message or image "hidden" as an Easter egg would be. Of course over the years there have been many hidden "Ester eggs" in artwork and movies. My origami crane isn't too hidden in the bamboo but it was fun to try. "Orizuru" is the Japanese word for a crane made by origami.
Several months ago our challenge was to try the concept of pattern. I look at the pattern of the bamboo leaves and stalks every day so it was a natural choice for a watercolor. It's such a busy scene and a pattern as well.
