We've had some of that gloomy weather this time of year which I mentioned in my previous post. A few weeks ago one of the paint-out groups met on a chilly and overcast day in a parking lot near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. I looked around for quite awhile for something to spark my interest for a painting. The trees around the locally popular Rose Bowl entrance needed pruning. Not a good view. I liked the hillsides around the Arroyo Seco area we were in. And there were some distant transmission towers that I like. I decided to try a small gouache piece since it dries faster than transparent watercolor. A trip to the car to use the heater to dry a layer of paint was still necessary. It's such a busy location for people that I had many stop to comment. And I wished I had another sweater...

ReplyDeleteHi Carol, Thank you!
DeleteI recognize that view! So you guys have critiques? I see a couple of familiar faces/backs.
ReplyDeleteMissed you today
Yes, the other paint-out groups have a discussion/critique. I'm sorry I missed painting today but had fun at my granddaughter's birthday party.
